Print or embroidery? The honest answer

Embroidery suits left-chest logos on garments washed constantly — it's textured, premium, and effectively lasts the life of the garment. DTF print suits colourful or detailed logos, gradients, photos, small text and large back prints — modern, vivid, and 50–100 washes with correct care. Many teams combine both: embroidered crest on the chest, printed brand across the back. Two honest caveats competitors won't tell you: embroidery struggles with very small text and fine gradients (stitches have a minimum size), and cheap print on a daily-wash uniform fails early — which is why we spec the method to your actual logo, not to whatever's easiest. Is branded workwear tax deductible? (Worth two minutes)

HMRC treats clothing with a conspicuous, permanent business logo differently from ordinary clothing. For employers, providing branded uniform-style workwear to staff is generally an allowable business expense; employees required to wear and maintain a recognisable uniform may be able to claim tax relief on its upkeep. The key test is that the logo is fixed and visible — embroidered or permanently printed, not a detachable badge — and that the clothing is genuinely workwear rather than everyday clothing. 2. We spec it honestly — garment, method (print/embroidery/both), placements — and send a free digital proof.

Print or embroidery — which lasts longer?

Embroidery, on daily-wash garments — it effectively lasts the garment's life. Correctly applied DTF print lasts 50–100 washes and handles colour detail embroidery can't. We'll recommend based on your logo and wash routine.

Can you match our brand colours?

For printed logos we work to your colour references; for garments, the ranges we use carry 40+ colours so we'll get close — send your brand colour and we'll advise honestly.

Is branded workwear tax deductible?
