Who orders personalised scrubs
Scrubs are no longer just for hospital theatres. Private GP and physiotherapy clinics, dental surgeries and orthodontists use them as a clean, consistent uniform. Veterinary practices and groomers like them because they are practical around animals and easy to launder. Care homes and domiciliary care teams wear them for comfort on long shifts. Beauty, aesthetics and tattoo studios choose black or navy scrubs for a modern professional look. Students on placement, nursing associates and locums often order a single set with their own name. Whatever the setting, a printed name and role makes introductions easier and builds trust with patients and clients.
For whole-practice orders, our bulk scrubs printing page explains how we handle size lists and multiple names, and our salon uniforms page has ideas for beauty and aesthetics teams.
About the scrubs
- Poly-viscose blend built for daily professional wear
- Colours: White, Navy Blue, Green, Black and Blue
- Sizes S, M, L, XL and 2XL
- Printing of name, role and clinic logo, with left chest as standard and an optional line across the back
- Embroidery available for permanent badges on uniforms that are hot washed
Poly-viscose combines two fibres that work well together. Viscose gives a soft, breathable feel that stays comfortable over a long shift. Polyester adds strength, helps the garment keep its shape and limits shrinkage through repeated washing, which matters because clinical uniforms are laundered hard and often. If you are unsure whether you need tops, trousers or both, message us with what you have in mind and we will talk it through.
Print or embroidery for custom scrubs?
Both options are available, and the right one depends mostly on how the scrubs will be washed.
DTF printing reproduces full-colour logos, gradients and small text accurately. The design is printed onto a film with a white backing layer, coated with adhesive and heat pressed onto the fabric. It suits multicolour practice logos and garments that go through a cooler wash routine. Like any heat-applied print, it lasts longest when washed at lower temperatures.
Embroidery stitches the design into the fabric, so it is effectively permanent and copes with hot washing. For a name badge or logo on scrubs that are washed at 60°C every day, embroidered scrubs are usually the more durable choice. Bold, simple designs stitch best; very fine detail and tiny text are better printed.
Many practices combine the two, for example an embroidered logo on the chest with a printed role on the back, or print for most of the team with embroidery for staff whose uniforms are laundered at higher temperatures. Tell us your wash routine and we will recommend the method that suits it.
Choosing scrub colours
There is no single national NHS colour chart in the UK. Colour coding is set locally by each Trust or employer, but some patterns recur. Navy often marks senior nursing roles, mid and light blues are common for general clinical staff, green and teal are traditional in theatres, and black has become popular in private clinics, dental and aesthetics practices. Always check your employer's uniform policy before ordering. These are custom-printed workwear garments, not official NHS-issue uniforms.
Building a consistent practice uniform
A matching look across reception, clinical and support staff makes a practice feel organised from the moment a patient walks in. Many teams pick one scrub colour for clinicians and a second for nurses or assistants, with the same logo and lettering style on every garment so the branding stays recognisable. Front-of-house staff who do not wear scrubs can still match with printed polos or T-shirts in the same colours. Our page on branded workwear and uniform printing covers how to plan a joined-up uniform across several garment types. When new staff join, we can repeat the same layout from your approved proof, so their personalised scrubs match everyone else's.
Design and artwork tips
- Keep the name large enough to read across a room. First name and role, such as "Sarah, Dental Nurse", works well on the left chest.
- Send your logo as a vector file or a PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI.
- We typeset names and role titles for you, so you only need to send a clear list.
- Choose a print colour that contrasts with the scrub colour: white on navy, black or green; navy or black on white.
- For a back line, keep it short, such as the practice name or a role like "Veterinary Nurse".

Quantities
There is no minimum order. A single set for a student on placement is as welcome as a full order for a multi-site practice. For teams, send a list with each person's name, role, colour and size on one line and we will set up every garment individually. Request a quote with your numbers and we will reply personally.
Washing personalised scrubs
NHS England's uniform guidance for employers notes that a ten-minute wash at 60°C removes almost all micro-organisms, and that washing with detergent at 30°C removes most Gram-positive organisms, including MRSA. The poly-viscose fabric copes with hospital-standard laundering. Heat-applied prints last longest washed cooler and turned inside out, so for daily hot washes choose embroidery for the badge. Avoid fabric softener on printed scrubs and do not iron over any decoration.
UK-wide delivery
We make each order at the FabricForge production unit nearest to the delivery address and send it anywhere in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Parcels travel with DPD, Royal Mail, Parcelforce or a relay parcel service depending on size. Orders go to dental surgeries in Leicester, vet practices in Norfolk, care homes in Lancashire, aesthetics clinics in Edinburgh, physio teams in Swansea and private clinics in Belfast. Share your deadline when you first get in touch and we will confirm timings before you approve the proof.
Personalised scrubs FAQs
Can you print my name and job title on scrubs?
Yes. A name and role on the left chest is our standard layout, and we typeset it for you from your list.
Do you offer embroidered scrubs?
Yes. Embroidery is available and is the more durable option for badges on scrubs that are washed at 60°C every day.
Can these scrubs be washed at 60°C?
The fabric can take hospital-standard laundering. For hot-wash routines we recommend embroidery for the badge, as printed designs last longest at cooler temperatures.
Are these official NHS uniforms?
No. They are custom-printed workwear for private practices, clinics and teams. Always check your employer's uniform policy.
What sizes and colours are available?
Sizes S to 2XL in White, Navy Blue, Green, Black and Blue.
Can I order for my whole practice?
Yes. Send a list of names, roles, colours and sizes and we will quote for the full team.
