What we can print
- Gamertags and usernames — in the font and style of your choice
- Quotes, catchphrases and lines from your own streams, clan mottos, or general gaming culture text
- Artwork you supply or own the rights to — your channel logo, a design you've commissioned, or artwork we design together from your brief
We print using DTF (direct-to-film) transfer, which handles fine detail and gradient artwork well — see our DTF vs screen printing guide for how it compares to other print methods.
What we can't print
We can't reproduce official game logos, studio branding, or copyrighted game characters and artwork without permission from the rights holder — this protects you as much as us, since printing someone else's IP without a licence can create problems later. What we do instead:
- Design an original graphic inspired by your favourite game's colour palette or vibe, without copying protected artwork or characters
- Print your own gamertag, clan name or original logo design
- Print fan-made or your own commissioned artwork, provided you hold the rights to use it commercially
If you're not sure whether something you'd like printed is your own IP or someone else's, message us and we'll talk it through honestly before you order.
How it works
- Send us your idea. A gamertag, a quote, or artwork you have — however rough, we'll work with it.
- We design a proof. A free layout showing font, placement and colours, sent before we print anything. We'll revise it until you're happy.
- We print and deliver. Once approved, we print and despatch UK-wide via Evri.
One UK-wide service
Wherever you're based, you get the same free proof, the same print quality, and delivery UK-wide via Evri.

Frequently asked questions
Can you print my gamertag or username?
Yes — tell us the text, your preferred style, and we'll design a free proof.
Can you print a character or logo from my favourite game?
Not if it's official game artwork or a studio's copyrighted design — we can't reproduce that without permission from the rights holder. We're happy to design something original inspired by the game instead.
Can you print my own artwork or commission?
Yes, provided you own the rights to use it commercially — send it over and we'll take it from there.
Do you do matching sets for a whole clan or team?
Yes — send us your member list and we'll quote for the full set.
Will the print hold up to regular washing?
Yes — we use DTF (direct-to-film) print, designed to resist cracking or peeling through normal washing.
Do you deliver UK-wide?
Yes, via Evri, anywhere in the UK.
How do I get started?
Message us on WhatsApp, call, or email with your idea. We'll take it from there.
Writing a design brief that gets the right proof
The more specific you are in your first message, the closer the first proof will be. A useful brief for a gaming shirt answers five questions:
1. What exactly should it say? Give the gamertag with its exact capitals, numbers and symbols. A zero and a capital O look similar, so spell it out.
2. What is the mood? Sharp and angular, rounded and playful, retro pixel, dark and moody, clean and minimal.
3. Which colours do you already use? Your channel banner, avatar or team colours are the quickest route to a matching shirt.
4. Front, back or both? Many people choose a small tag on the chest and the larger design across the back.
5. Who is it for? A personal shirt, a clan set or a gift all lead to different choices.
If you can attach a screenshot of your profile picture or banner, that gives us colours and style references without anyone guessing.
Making a gamertag readable on a shirt
A username on a screen is one thing; a username across a chest is another. Some practical points:
- Long names need a simpler font. Elaborate lettering is fine for six letters, but sixteen characters of decorative script becomes hard to read.
- Keep spacing even. Strings of numbers and underscores can look uneven if left as typed, and we can tidy the spacing when we set the proof.
- Check contrast with the shirt colour. Neon green on black is strong. Dark purple on navy disappears.
- Think about the background. A tag on a plain shirt can stand alone, but an illustration behind it needs enough room around the letters.
Clan, squad and esports team sets
When a group wants to look like a team, consistency matters more than detail. A common arrangement is:
- The team logo on the chest.
- Each player's tag across the upper back.
- An optional role line such as Captain, Support or Coach beneath it.
Collect everyone's tag and size in one place before you message us, and ask each person to type their own name so spelling stays accurate. Rosters change, so if a new player joins later, tell us promptly and we can check whether the same artwork can be used. For bigger squads, our group order guide explains how to gather sizes without the chaos.
Streamers, creators and community merch
If you run a channel, a shirt can be a thank-you for loyal viewers, a prize or simply something you wear on stream. A few thoughts:
- A simple catchphrase often works better than a complicated logo, because it is quick to read on camera.
- A single bold colour on a plain garment photographs well under studio lighting.
- Think about repeat wear. If you wear the shirt on stream often, the design needs to look good on your fiftieth wash as well as your first. Our wash care page has the guidance.
- Ask for a proof before you promise anything to your community. Do not announce a giveaway design until you have approved it.
Original art, fan art and rights
Gaming culture is full of borrowed imagery, so this is worth understanding. In plain terms, you can safely print what you have the right to use: your own logo, artwork you made, artwork you commissioned with commercial use agreed in writing, and plain text. Official game logos, characters and studio branding belong to their owners, and FabricForge does not reproduce them without permission.
A good alternative is a design that captures the feeling of a game without copying it: a colour palette, a mood, an in-joke phrase or an original emblem. If you commissioned art from an illustrator, keep their written agreement handy and tell us it covers shirts.
Gifts for gamers
If you are buying for someone else, the safest design is one that reflects their own identity rather than a franchise:
- Their gamertag, perhaps with a small icon of their own choosing.
- A shared joke from a friendship group or a long-running server.
- A set of matching shirts for a group who play together every week, which makes a good birthday or Christmas present.
Check the recipient's usual size from a shirt they already own, and tell us if the gift needs to arrive before a particular date. Give the deadline when you request a quote and order early.
Extra questions from players
Can I use pixel art?
Yes, if you made it or hold the rights. Send the original file at the largest size you have, because small, blurry images can look rough once printed larger.
Can you add a QR code to a channel?
Yes. It works best on the back, large enough to scan, and we suggest testing it from the proof.
Can everyone in a clan have a different tag but the same logo?
Yes. Individual names with a shared design are straightforward within one order.
What file should I send?
Any clear image is a starting point. For more detail on what works best, see our artwork preparation guide.
