Charity & Event T-Shirt Printing in Glasgow

Glasgow is a city of fundraisers. Every spring and autumn thousands of people pull on a team T-shirt, pin on a number and raise money for a cause that matters to them, whether that is a children's hospice, a mental health charity or a friend who needs help. A good team shirt makes a group easy to spot on the day, gives supporters something to cheer for and helps donors see who they are sponsoring. FabricForge prints custom charity and event T-shirts for Glasgow teams from our Glasgow city centre shop and delivers them to you, using durable DTF printing that keeps the colour through the sweat and the weather.

Glasgow events teams print shirts for

These are the events we are most often asked about. Dates are what organisers or listing sites have published at the time of writing, and they can change, so always check with the organiser before you fix your printing deadline.

  • The Kiltwalk, Glasgow. A mass-participation walking fundraiser. The charity Quarriers lists the Glasgow Kiltwalk as 24 and 25 April 2027, although another participating charity, CHAS, says the dates have not been confirmed. Check the official Kiltwalk site before you order.
  • The Great Scottish Run. Glasgow's big running weekend. A ticketing listing shows the 2027 event as 2 and 3 October.
  • Community fun runs, sponsored walks and cycle rides. Smaller events organised by schools, churches, workplaces and sports clubs through the year.
  • Charity dinners, quiz nights and gala evenings. Staff and volunteer T-shirts or hoodies so guests know who to ask for help.
  • Festivals and street events. Volunteer and steward shirts for local festivals across the city.

We are not an official supplier to any of these events, and we do not use their logos unless the organiser has given you permission. Your team shirt carries your team name and your design.

What goes on a charity team shirt

  • Team name and cause. A bold front print such as "Team Jamie" with a small line saying who you are raising money for.
  • A fundraising page link or QR code. Many teams print a short web address or QR code on the back so passers-by can donate on the spot. Keep it large enough to scan and test it before you print.
  • Names or numbers on the back. Helpful for large teams or relays. Names on the back also look good in group photos.
  • Sponsor logos. If a local business is backing the team, a small logo on the back or sleeve is a fair way to say thanks. Check what the sponsor is happy for you to use.
  • "In memory of" designs. Many Glasgow teams run in memory of someone. We can print a name, dates, a short message or a photo-style design on the shirt. Send us the image and we will check it works at print size.

Colours, garments and sizes

T-shirts are the default for a walk or run, but you can also order hoodies for evening events, long sleeves for colder months, polo shirts for committee members or volunteers and caps and bags as extra fundraising items. We offer 14 colours, with kids' sizes from 3 to 16, adult sizes from S to 5XL in men's and women's cuts, and oversized fits from S to 3XL.

Pick a colour that stands out on the route. A bright shirt helps your team find each other in a crowd and shows up well in photos. Use a dark design on a light shirt or a light design on a dark shirt, and avoid putting a dark logo on a dark colour. For sporting events, think about what people will be wearing: a breathable fit is more comfortable than a thick, tight one.

When to order for a Glasgow event

Charity teams often start late, because the sign-up deadline comes after the date they first thought about the shirt. Here is a practical way to plan backwards from the event:

  • 8 weeks before: confirm the design idea, team name and a rough headcount.
  • 6 weeks before: request your quote and approve artwork.
  • 4 to 5 weeks before: send the final size list and any names for printing.
  • 2 weeks before: shirts should be in hand so that everyone has time to try them on and swap sizes if needed.

These are planning guides, not a promise of turnaround. We confirm the real timing in your quote, based on your quantity and garment. If your event is soon, tell us the date in your first message and we will say honestly what is possible.

Designs that raise more money

  1. Keep the message short. A team name and a cause are enough. People read a T-shirt from a few metres away.
  2. Put the donation link where people can see it. A QR code on the back is easy to scan when the team walks ahead of supporters.
  3. Use one strong colour. A single standout colour and a simple design look better than a crowded print.
  4. Print a few spares. Late joiners, relatives and supporters often ask for a shirt. Extra sizes can turn into more donations.
  5. Offer shirts as a donation reward. Some teams sell shirts to supporters and donate the margin. Tell us the quantity you expect and we will discuss options.

Group orders: collecting sizes and money

Large teams need a simple system. Appoint one organiser, share a size guide, collect sizes in a spreadsheet and set a firm deadline. Decide before you start whether team members pay for their own shirt or the team covers the cost from fundraising. Our how it works page explains how orders and quotes run, and we can talk you through payment options for group orders when you message us.

Our process

  1. Tell us about the event. Name, date, number of people and any design ideas.
  2. Get a written quote. It covers garments, print positions and delivery. Charity orders vary a lot, so we quote each one individually.
  3. Approve a mock-up. You see the design on a shirt, including spelling and QR code placement.
  4. We print and pack. Each shirt is printed and checked in our Glasgow shop before dispatch.
  5. Delivery. We deliver from our Glasgow shop to your Glasgow address, such as the organiser's home or a workplace.

Our Glasgow shop is not open to walk-in visitors, so we do not publish a street address. We give the address to customers once they have called us or placed an order.

Looking after the shirts

Event shirts are often worn once on the day and then again for training or the next event. To keep the print looking good, turn the shirt inside out, wash at 30 to 40 degrees, avoid bleach and fabric softener and do not iron directly on the print. Air dry if you can. If you want to know how transfers are applied and why they last, see our DTF application guide.
