A Custom Bandana Made for Your Group
Bandanas are one of the most flexible printed items you can order. One person wears it as a headband, another knots it at the neck, someone else ties it round a wrist or a bag strap. They are light, fold flat into a pocket and turn a group of people into an obvious team without anyone needing a full matching outfit. That is why they show up at festivals, sports days, charity walks, cycle rides and market stalls.
A personalised bandana also works well as a one-off. A name and a date for a birthday, an in-joke for a best friend, or a photo for a family gathering are all simple to set up. Whether you order one or a box full, the process and the free proof are the same.

Single-jersey is a knitted fabric with a smooth face and a slight natural stretch. That smooth surface is ideal for a printed bandana because it gives the ink an even base, so edges stay sharp and small text stays legible. The gentle stretch means the bandana sits comfortably when tied and recovers its shape afterwards. Because the fabric is recycled, it is also a sensible choice for groups and businesses trying to cut down on waste.
How DTF Printing Works on a Bandana
DTF stands for direct-to-film. Your design is printed onto a clear film, backed with a white layer so colours stay bright on any base colour, then dusted with a fine adhesive powder and cured. We then heat press the film onto the bandana and peel it away, leaving the design bonded into the fabric surface.
There are three practical benefits. First, full colour costs the same as one colour, so a detailed festival logo or a photo collage is no harder to produce than plain lettering. Second, DTF prints well on dark bases, so a Black or Green bandana can carry bright artwork without fading into the background. Third, the print has a soft, flexible feel and moves with the fabric when you knot it, rather than cracking at the fold.
Who Orders Printed Bandanas
- Hen and stag groups: names, nicknames, the destination and the date. Pair them with t-shirts or sashes using our hen, stag and wedding printing options.
- Festival crews and event staff: easy to spot in a crowd and comfortable in the heat. Our festival and event printing page covers matching tees and staff wear.
- Sports and cycling clubs: club badges and colours for race days, tournaments and fun runs.
- Food trucks, cafés and market traders: a branded bandana is a simple uniform piece that keeps hair back and puts your name in front of customers.
- Bands and creators: affordable merch that is easy to post and easy to wear.
- Dog owners: a matching human bandana for you, with the pet version for your dog.
- Gift buyers: birthdays, leaving gifts and personalised presents with a name or private joke.
Artwork and Design Tips
The best bandana designs are planned around how the bandana will be worn. A few pointers:
- Think about the fold. Folded into a triangle, only part of the square faces outward. Place your main logo or text where it will be seen, or ask us to set it in a corner panel.
- Repeat patterns work well. A small logo repeated across the whole square stays visible however it is tied.
- Supply clean files. PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI, or a vector file, gives the crispest edges. Avoid screenshots and heavily compressed images.
- Bold beats delicate. Thick lettering and clear shapes read better on fabric than hairline details.
- Use contrast. Light artwork on Black, Red, Green or Blue. Dark artwork on White or Sky Blue.
- Personalise each one. Names or numbers can change from bandana to bandana, which is popular for hen parties and teams. Send us a simple list.

Quantities and Group Orders
A single personalised bandana is fine, and so is a large run for a club or event. For group orders, the most useful information to send is the total number, the colour split, whether the design is the same on every bandana and any individual names. Bandanas are quoted on request, and quantity pricing applies to bigger runs. If you are organising for a festival or a stag weekend, it helps to add a few spares for late sign-ups and the inevitable lost bandana.
Choosing the Right Colour
Colour does more work than people expect. For a team or club, matching the bandana to your existing kit makes the group look planned rather than thrown together. For hen and stag weekends, a bright Red or Sky Blue is easy to spot across a busy bar or beach. For staff in kitchens and food vans, Black hides marks and keeps a tidy look through a long shift. White is the best canvas for photos and pastel artwork. If you cannot decide, ask us to show your design on two or three colours on the proof and choose from there. Seeing your custom bandana side by side in different colours usually makes the decision quick.
Care Instructions
Wash cold and inside out with no fabric softener, then hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the printed area. Treated this way, the colours stay bright and the print stays flexible through repeated wear and washing.
UK-Wide Delivery
Your order is made at the FabricForge production unit closest to your delivery address and then sent out with DPD, Royal Mail, Parcelforce or our relay parcel service, depending on the size of the parcel. We deliver throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, so a hen party in Newcastle, a cycling club in Edinburgh, a festival crew heading out from Bristol and a market trader in Swansea all order the same way. If your bandanas are for a fixed date, let us know in your first message and we will plan the order around it.

Custom Bandana FAQs
What can a custom bandana be used for?
Festivals, hen and stag dos, sports and cycling clubs, market and band merch, staff uniforms at food trucks and events, personalised gifts and matching sets with your dog.
Can you print my logo or artwork in full colour?
Yes. We print full colour with DTF and there is no extra charge for multi-coloured designs. Supply a 300 DPI PNG with a transparent background or a vector file for the best result.
Is the fabric really recycled?
Yes. The bandana is made from sustainable recycled single-jersey fabric, which is soft with a slight stretch.
Can a dog wear this bandana?
Yes. Measure the neck and allow 15 to 20cm for the knot, and always tie it loosely. We also offer a pet-first bandana with breed sizing guidance.
Can each bandana have a different name?
Yes. Send a list of names or numbers with your order and we will include them all on the proof for you to check.
How should I wash a printed bandana?
Wash cold, inside out, with no fabric softener, hang to dry and avoid ironing over the print.
