Gifts for Dog Lovers: Personalised Printed Tops, Totes and Bandanas
People who love dogs do not just own one; they rearrange their lives around one. Walks come before lie-ins, the sofa belongs to somebody with four legs, and the camera roll is mostly one face. That makes gifts for dog lovers a pleasure to design, because the best idea is already in the house wagging its tail. FabricForge prints personalised T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags and dog bandanas from a single item upwards, and posts them with DPD, Royal Mail, Parcelforce or our relay parcel service.

What makes a dog gift personal
A paw-print slogan from a shop could be bought for anyone. A top with your friend's own spaniel on it, named correctly and doing the face she always pulls, can only belong to her. The difference is detail: the dog's name, a nickname, a breed quirk, a date such as the day they came home. Good dog gifts rarely need many words. They need the right three.
Ideas by type of dog person
The walker
Someone who is out in every kind of weather gets the most use from a hoodie. A back print with the dog's name and "Head of Walks" suits them, and a small chest print keeps it tidy. Pick a darker colour, because muddy paws are part of the lifestyle.
The new puppy owner
A first-puppy gift can mark the date: "Pup arrived 2026" with a paw icon, or the puppy's name on a tote that doubles as a bag for training treats. Include the date, because the puppy will not stay small, and owners love looking back.
The multi-dog household
List every dog with a small icon each. It is a family portrait in lettering, and it solves the problem of which dog gets pride of place.
The owner who lost a dog
This is a gentler gift, and one to handle with care. A simple name and years, in quiet lettering, can be comforting. For gifts of this kind, our page on pet memorial printing is the better place to begin.
The dog-walking or grooming professional
Walkers, sitters and groomers often want branded tops with a logo and a friendly line. Our small business branded clothing page covers how those orders work.
Products that suit dog gifts
T-shirts
The easy choice. Best for a dog's face as a printed photo, a one-line joke or a breed-based slogan.
Hoodies
A better canvas for a bigger design on the back, with a smaller front print. Warm, and good for winter walks.
Tote bags
A bag for the dog park, with the pet's name, is practical and a good low-key present. See custom tote bags.
Bandanas
For the dog itself. A name or a short phrase on a bandana photographs well and survives a lot of rolling in leaves. Our personalised pet products page explains the range, and the Christmas version is covered in Christmas dog bandanas.
Owner and dog matching
A popular choice is a matching set: the same design on the owner's top and the dog's bandana. It makes a ready-made photograph and a gift that feels thought through. Our guide to dog and owner matching sets goes into pairing colours and sizes.
Turning a photograph into a design
Dog photographs can look brilliant on fabric, but only if the original is good. Choose one taken in daylight, with the dog's face sharp and a plain or softly blurred background. Send the original file instead of a screenshot. A tight crop on the face prints better than a full-body shot where the dog is small. If the dog has black fur, tell us, because dark fur on a dark garment disappears, and we will suggest a lighter garment colour or a pale outline around the shape.
Sizes and colours
Adult sizes run from S to 5XL, with an oversized fit from S to 3XL, and children's sizes from 3 to 16 for young dog lovers. We print on 14 garment colours. Black, navy and forest green are the safest for outdoor wear. White and sage work for photograph-led designs. If you cannot decide, we will show the artwork on two colours in the mockup.
What to write
- The dog's name with "Mum", "Dad" or "Nan", depending on the owner.
- A breed joke, such as "Professional Ball Thrower".
- The year the dog joined the family.
- "Walk first, coffee second."
- A pair of paw prints with the name beneath.
How the order works
- Send us the idea, the product, quantity and date.
- Attach the artwork or photograph as a PNG, JPG or PDF.
- We confirm the details and take payment before preparing a mockup.
- You approve or request changes, up to five rounds.
- We print and dispatch. Next-day UK delivery is possible after approval, depending on timing.
When to order
Dog gifts spike at Christmas and around a dog's birthday or adoption anniversary. For winter orders, plan using the Christmas printing deadlines page, and if you are buying for a group of friends, agree the design before collecting money.
Looking after the print
Wash garments inside out at a cool setting, avoid a hot dryer and do not iron the print. Bandanas can be washed the same way. Our care guide has the full steps.
Gifts for someone who has lost a dog, and for new owners
Two moments in a dog lover's life call for particular care. The first is a new arrival. A puppy transforms a household overnight, and friends often want to mark it: a tote for puppy-class essentials, a top with the pup's name and the date they came home, or a small matching bandana that is outgrown in weeks but photographed for years. The second is the loss of a dog. Here the gift is quieter and the wording matters more than the garment. Keep it simple: the name, the years, perhaps a single paw print. Avoid jokes, avoid slogans, and avoid anything that might feel like a replacement for the pet. If you are unsure, ask a close family member whether a printed gift would be welcome yet. Some people want it within days; others need months.
Gifts for the whole dog-walking group
Many dog owners belong to an informal group that meets at the same field at the same time every morning. A round of matching hoodies with the group name on the back, and each dog's name on the sleeve, is an excellent surprise for a birthday or a Christmas gathering. Collect the names of each owner and each dog, agree on one colour and send everything in a single list. Because every dog has a name and every owner has a size, the list is longer than it looks, so allow extra time for checking spellings before the mockup is approved.
