Branded T-Shirts for Business: Custom Printed Company T-Shirts for Teams and Events
A branded T-shirt is the cheapest way to make a team look like a team. It is also one of the most visible, because it gets worn at trade stands, on shop floors, at charity runs and at the local pub. FabricForge prints company T-shirts in full colour from a single item upwards, so a new starter's top can be ordered on its own as easily as a hundred for a launch event. Parcels go out by DPD, Royal Mail, Parcelforce or our relay parcel service to your premises or to individual homes.

What businesses use T-shirts for
Daily uniform
Cafés, salons, shops and garages put staff in a branded top every day. The aim is recognisable but comfortable: a small chest logo in a neutral colour that stands up to repeated washing.
Events and trade stands
For an exhibition or a launch, a bolder T-shirt with a large logo or slogan makes the team easy to spot. Event T-shirts are often a different colour from the daily uniform, so staff stand out in a crowd.
Giveaways and promotions
Some businesses give T-shirts to customers or supporters. In that case the design should be something people would wear for its own sake, not just an advert.
Charity and community days
Fundraising runs and volunteering days work better when everyone wears the same top. See charity fundraising T-shirt printing for specifics.
How to design a company T-shirt
Good company T-shirts are simple. A single logo, well placed and correctly sized, does the job. Common mistakes include crowding the shirt with text, placing the logo too low or choosing colours that clash with the brand. A sound starting point is the logo on the left chest, with a website or a short tagline on the back. For events, flip that: a large back print and a small front logo.
Choosing garment colour
Garment colour should support the logo, not fight it. Black, navy, white and grey are the safest. If your brand is bright, a neutral garment lets the logo stand out. If your brand is dark, white or a pale colour gives contrast. We print on 14 colours, and we can show the same logo on two or three garments in the mockup, so you can choose with the real thing in front of you.
Fabric and fit
Adult sizes run from S to 5XL, with an oversized fit from S to 3XL, and children's sizes from 3 to 16 for family events. A wide range matters, because teams include many shapes and ages. If you are unsure which sizes to order, ask each person to check a T-shirt they already like. For cold workplaces, see branded hoodies for business.
Logo files
The best file is a vector PDF, which can be scaled without losing sharpness. A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background is the next best choice. If the logo is only available as a small image from a website, it will print blurry. We resize and position the logo, but we do not redesign it. The artwork setup guide shows what a good file looks like.
Adding names, roles and numbers
Names and roles make a uniform personal. Send a list with each person's name, size and any wording for the back. For events, a role such as "Team Lead" or "Ask Me" makes staff easy to find. If the shirts will be reused across several events, avoid printing dates on them.
Ordering for different team sizes
A small team of five and a large team of fifty order in the same way. What changes is the preparation. For large teams, appoint someone to collect sizes and check names, and agree a closing date. Our page on corporate T-shirt printing covers larger orders, and team T-shirt printing covers matching sets for clubs and groups.
The process
- Message us with the quantity, the logo, garment colour and the date you need them.
- Send the logo and any lists of names and sizes.
- We confirm the details and take payment before building the mockup.
- You approve the mockup or ask for changes, up to five rounds.
- After approval we print and dispatch. Next-day UK delivery is possible after approval, depending on timing.
Timing for events
Event orders are usually driven by a fixed date. Work backwards from that day, allowing time for sizes to be collected, a mockup to be approved and delivery. A good rule is to place the order at least two weeks before the event, and to allow extra time if a decision is needed from several people. See how long custom printing takes for more detail on turnaround.
Washing and wear
Staff T-shirts are washed constantly, so durability matters. A DTF print stays flexible and bright when the garment is washed inside out at a low temperature and kept away from a hot dryer. Giving staff a short care note with their shirt makes a real difference. The care guide sets out the steps.
Why a T-shirt beats other branded items
Pens and mugs sit on a desk. A T-shirt is seen by hundreds of people every week. It is also practical: staff wear it, so it gets used, and it carries the brand into places a leaflet never reaches. For many small businesses it is the best use of a modest budget.
Planning a launch, an open day or an anniversary
A one-off event is the most common reason a business orders its first batch of T-shirts. The key to a good result is a clear brief: who will wear them, for how long and what the shirts should say about the business. A product launch benefits from a bold design with the new product's name; an open day suits a friendly slogan; an anniversary works best with the years and the company name in a simple layout. Think also about afterwards. Shirts that carry a date or a specific event name are harder to reuse, while shirts that carry only the logo can be worn for years. Many businesses order two designs: one for the event and one for everyday use, in the same colour, so the team always has something to wear.
Making sure everyone looks consistent
Teams that order in two or three batches often find that colours differ slightly between runs. To avoid this, place the largest possible first order and keep a few spares of each size. If you do need to reorder, tell us the colour and the original design so the new batch can be matched as closely as possible, and ask to see the mockup before printing.
