Which Sticker Material Do You Actually Need?

Paper stickers can be laminated for splash resistance, but laminated paper still won't match polypropylene for true waterproofing or outdoor life. Be wary of anything sold simply as "waterproof stickers" without stating the material.
Setting Up a Custom Cut Line (Dieline)
For custom-shape stickers, supply artwork with a separate cut-line path (a named spot colour), 3mm bleed beyond the cut, and important content kept ~3mm inside the cut line to allow for cutting tolerance. Standard rounded corners are 2mm radius. If that sounds fiddly, just send the artwork and desired shape — we'll build the dieline for you.
Artwork Requirements
Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK at 300 DPI with 3mm bleed. For circles, keep text well inside the curve; for QR codes, leave a clear margin so the code scans reliably.
FAQs
Are paper stickers waterproof? No — paper absorbs moisture, so edges curl and the print smudges. For anything exposed to water or the outdoors, choose polypropylene.
Can I put a sticker directly on food? Only food-contact-certified materials should touch food. Our standard stickers aren't certified for direct food contact — use them on the outside of packaging, or ask us about a food-safe specification.
Can I have a custom shape? Yes — die-cut from 20 × 20mm up to 293 × 206mm.
How are they supplied? Peel-and-stick on A4 sheets.
Are they recyclable? Paper stickers yes; polypropylene has limited recyclability. More on paper sustainability in our FSC, PEFC & EPR guide.
Can I write on them? Yes on the uncoated paper stock — ideal for hand-finished packaging.
Permanent or removable adhesive? Standard adhesive is permanent-grade; tell us if you need clean removal from smooth surfaces and we'll advise.
