Our personalised pet memorial card carries your pet's photo, name, dates and a chosen verse — something to keep in a wallet, on a shelf, or to send with sympathy to someone who's lost a companion.
What You Can Include
- Your pet's name and dates
- A favourite photograph
- A paw print
- A verse, poem or your own words — or ask us to suggest something gentle
What to Write on a Pet Memorial Card
There's no wrong choice — simple and heartfelt works best. Many people include the pet's name, their dates, and a short line such as "Forever in our hearts", "Always by our side" or "Loved beyond words". Others choose a favourite memory or a short verse. If you're writing to a grieving friend, name the pet, acknowledge the loss simply, and offer specific support: "I'm so sorry you've lost Bella — I'm here whenever you'd like to talk."
A Note on the Rainbow Bridge Poem
The much-loved "Rainbow Bridge" poem is often chosen for pet memorials. It was written in 1959 by Edna Clyne-Rekhy, a Scottish teenager grieving her Labrador, Major — her authorship was only confirmed in 2023, after decades of the poem circulating anonymously. Because it remains under copyright, we're happy to reference it or help you choose a short personal tribute inspired by it — just ask and we'll find wording that's right for you.
How It Works
Send us your photo and wording by WhatsApp or email. We'll lay it out, send you a preview to approve, and only print once you're happy. If your photo is older or a little faded, ask — light tidy-ups are often possible, and we'll always tell you honestly if an image won't print well.

FAQs
What do you write on a pet memorial card? The pet's name, dates, and a short line of remembrance or a favourite memory. Keep it simple and personal — we can suggest gentle wording.
Is it appropriate to give one to someone grieving a pet? Yes — pet grief is real and often under-acknowledged, so a thoughtful acknowledgement is usually deeply appreciated. A card sent weeks later, when others have gone quiet, can mean a great deal.
Can I include more than one photo? Yes — tell us what you'd like.
Can I order several to give to family? Yes.
Do you make matching keepsakes? Yes — see our memorial bookmark, foam board and canvas, or browse the full range on our pet memorial printing page.
Will I see it before it's printed? Always — nothing prints without your approval.
